My newest book is based on the very simple idea that if you find what makes you intrinsically joyful and then learn to align your life toward it, you will be happy. Thus the title "Be True, Be Happy: Simple Secrets for a Happy and Meaningful Life." Happiness can be right there if you only allow it to be and cultivate the right things and actions in your life. To help with this, I present various little "Happiness Secrets" in the book. One such secret is to know "The Key to Happiness."

Now you may think that you have to run out and find that key somewhere. All too often we look to the outside to provide happiness to us. Maybe you think you have to "get" something in order to be happy –- like maybe the latest tech toy, or maybe a designer handbag, or a fancy car.

Not true. Well, OK, some of these may make you happy – but only for a short time, and then you are back to where you started and need another “happiness fix.”

Instead, it’s all so easy if you know the real key to happiness: the true key to happiness is --are you ready?-- YOU.

YOU hold happiness right there in your hand. This means not to listen to society and hear “if you only have this and that thing, you will be happy,” but to really listen to yourself, to really pay attention to what makes you happy intrinsically, form the inside. If you find that, you don’t have to wait until you can HAVE happiness (like waiting until you can buy this or that), but you can BE happy right away, right here and now.

In "Be True, Be Happy," I teach you how to do this, and literally generate happiness in your life. An example would be to do an activity which you enjoy so much that you completely loose yourself in it -- this is called "being in the flow." Another example is finding and doing what gives your life a greater purpose. Or, if you really pay attention, you’ll learn to appreciate the smaller things in life, which are often the ones that really count – like your health, the smile of a loved one, etc. (read earlier post)

So come along, and learn to Be true, Be happy!

Namaste — I and the Divine in me bow to You and the Divine in You.
